Residential development in Brierley Hill starts on site
The re-design of a site in Brierley Hill by Khoury Architects has made the scheme commercially viable and enabled a swift start on site
Khoury Architects was appointed by Broadhaven Homes to re-design a site which had an existing permission for fewer homes meaning the development was not workable. Thanks to Khoury Architects’ creativity and success during the pre-application and planning application processes, there has been a complete overhaul of the site layout and vehicular access. This has increased the number of dwellings and made the scheme plausible.
The site, which is close to the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, will host 12 new build, two bed, two storey dwellings, each having an internal area of 64 square metres. The development meets the contextual requirements of the surrounding area in terms of scales and materiality with red brick, white render and tile/slate pitched roofs. The proposals have also been designed in accordance with national standards, including Lifetime Homes and Places for Living.
Completion is expected in Spring 2020.
